Tilink : un dispositif pour les enfants hospitalisés
Tilink is an interactive multimedia communication tool for hospitalized children between the ages of eight and ten.
The goal of this tool is to enhance the hospital stay of these young children by offering them the possibility of keeping in close contact with their family and friends.
An interactive multimedia communication tool
Tilink is done by way of a wireless UMPC adapted to and personalized for the child-user on the one hand, and a website for family and friends on the other.
Tilink will also allow the user to communicate with other children-users in the hospital. Moreover, he will have access to an on-line media center containing games, music, video and photo galleries, all of which is managed by parents.
To help the child use the device and also reassure him, Tilink provides an intelligent and personalized virtual character who serves as a guide. This guide keeps track of video calls, receives messages, and checks up on how the child is feeling. Family and friends havi access to the site can consult this information which is automatically updated regularly.
Thus, Tilink becomes a sort of virtual best friend there to comfort and occupy hospitalized children especially when family and friends cannot be present.
